I believe Astral Projection is just DMT in full effect. DMT (dimethyltryptamene) is the world's most powerful hallucinogen and is found in basically every living thing on earth. It is what makes us dream. When people go into the astral realm it's after intense meditation and focusing. THEORY: This meditation tricks the mind to go into sleeping, but you know that you're body is awake. When your mind is asleep it gives off DMT. This dream-like area known as "Astral Plane" is what I believe to be just a dream sequence that you have no problem controlling.
