So the problem is not downloading, but installing - not sure I can help you here. Looks like you are having problems with your computer. I would recommend the new version of Mac (Lion), creating a new account on your mac, make sure it has admin privileges, and install under that account.

I was thinking it could be a problem like windows users have where even when your the system admin you still need to right click install as admin in some cases. I dont know why but that could be something too.
