What's the best way to start lucid dreaming?

I've tried a few things but I simply don't know what way to go and what works. Any advice from 'the pros'?

I can help out here.
First off you will want to do reality checks during the day... do it enough to get a habit of doing it.
my favorite is hold your nose if you can breathe through your nose while holding it... then you are dreaming.
Also take some stuff like melatonin and Valerian root about 30 minutes before you go to sleep.
soon as you wake up review what you dreamed.
you will get more and more dream recall this way.
with that a higher chance at getting lucid.
you can also do methods like WILD.
which is a wake induced lucid dream.
or WBTB. (wake back to bed)
you wake up by an alarm or something go get some water maybe...
go back to sleep and concentrate on what you were dreaming before.
you could enter the same dream... soon as you do you will know you are dreaming and you can take full control.

Waking up and go for a glass of water is not a good idea. That will probably make you dream about a toilet or that you have to pee. Toilet dreams are quite boring... :P

Or even that you have to go to the bathroom, then actually do. In bed. Never happened to me, but I've heard of it happening to people.
