Bots? What are the for?

Alright, everytime I look down I always see Bingbot or Googlebot, this time exabot, what exactly are these bots and what do they do?

They are called spiders. They visit a site and browse it like a normal user and record data. This data then is used on its search engine and puts it into searches. Thats one reason they dont want us posting personal info. The spiders record it then spam the internet with your info.

these are evil bots. but there're good bots too. contact some wikipedia boters and they'll tell you

Actually they are good for IDoser. Every time ,for example, the google bot shows up it records the information and updates its database. With more popularity on the website the website moves up the latter of search results ultimately pushing IDoser to the very top if you were to google terms like binaural beats, digital drugs, and things in that manner
